Red Ocedar Mop vs Blue Rinse Clean Mop – Which Is Better?

The mop aisle is overwhelming. But two products keep coming up again and again in the home cleaning community: the O-Cedar EasyWring Spin Mop (the red one) and the Blue Rinse Clean Mop. I bought both, used them for three weeks on my hardwood floors, tile, and laminate, and I'm here to give you my completely honest take.

The O-Cedar EasyWring Spin Mop

This is the one you've probably seen all over TikTok and YouTube. The hands-free wringing mechanism is genuinely impressive — you step on the pedal, spin the mop head, and the bucket does all the work. No wringing with your hands, no dripping water everywhere.

What I loved:

• The triangular mop head gets into corners surprisingly well
• Replacement heads are affordable and widely available
• The bucket has a built-in wringer that actually works
• Great for large open floor areas

What I didn't love:

• The mop head holds a LOT of water — you have to wring it multiple times for hardwood
• The bucket is bulky and hard to store
• Strings can tangle if you're not careful

The Blue Rinse Clean Mop

This one is newer to the market and uses a self-cleaning mechanism where you push the mop head into a built-in scrubber inside the bucket. It's designed specifically to keep clean water separate from dirty water.

What I loved:

• The clean/dirty water separation is a game changer — you're never mopping with dirty water
• Lighter and more maneuverable than the O-Cedar
• Easier to store
• Better for smaller spaces and around furniture

What I didn't love:

• The mop head is smaller, so large rooms take longer
• Replacement heads can be harder to find in stores

The Verdict

For most homes, I recommend the O-Cedar for its ease of use and availability. But if you have mostly hardwood floors and hate the idea of mopping with dirty water, the Blue Rinse Clean Mop is worth the investment. You can find both linked in my Amazon storefront.
